A Nature-Based Therapeutic Summer Camp for Queer Teens

Join Kip & Kalen for this Summer Camp for queer teens, full of outdoor activities, wildcrafting and art making. Participants will be welcomed into an inclusive space to learn together and to connect with their love for nature while building their skills in self-confidence.

This nature-based group is for queer youth between the ages of 12-16.

The queer/trans experience will be centred throughout the week together. We have found that this important, supportive affinity connection encourages a deeper sense of belonging, resilience and celebration.

Over the week we will:

  • have fun and play forest games;

  • deepen our sensory awareness of ourselves, each other and the land through embodiment practices, stealth + awareness games/challenges and maybe even some camo-drag;

  • make art and nature crafts. In previous years we have learned: cordage, weaving, salve-making, ink-making, patch-making and plant-dyeing;

  • have opportunities to deepen our knowledge and relationship to the land, including local plants and animal species;

  • make new friends and share about our queer/trans experience.

I loved how I could just be myself and just come the way I was, and everyone accepted that. I loved the inclusivity in general, and I made lots of friends, which was awesome.
