Come support youth in discovering their inner wildness and deepening their connection to nature. Learn to facilitate nature connection in a way that seems almost effortless, deeply meaningful and of course fun! Together we will experience an outdoor learning environment based in 8-Shields pedagogy that is full of joy, curiosity and awe. By stepping into the role of a Thriving Roots Nature Mentor, you will rediscover your own personal gifts and deepen into yourself, your community, and the more than human world.
As an Apprentice you will be supporting the Lead Instructors in providing meaningful, engaging nature connection experiences for youth. We invite you to engage fully in your own nature connection journey along the way and encourage participation in our Adult Wilderness Skills Monthly Program. Youth program curriculum includes but is not limited to: ecology, edible and medicinal plants, basic outdoor/survival skills including fire and shelter, wildlife tracking, bird identification and behavior, navigation and sensory development games.
